Hot tip #1 — Dealing with damage

There are so many nooks and crannies in Classcraft, little things even our most experienced users may not know about. We're here for you!

These brand-new Hot Tips should help you better understand some of the more mysterious and powerful aspects of Classcraft in a bite-sized, accessible format.

We’re breaking the ice with one of the hottest topics: delayed damage.

We first want to reassure you: we’ve heard your feedback. Our designers and engineers are hard at work streamlining the experience!

When dealing with damage, there are a few useful things to know:

  • All damage is automatically redirected to your to-dos and the delayed damage queue  for students, except for damage incurred when a teammate falls
  • Damage must be dealt with in the order it occurred, on a per-team basis (if you use teams)
  • You can cancel damage from your to-dos through the “...” button

The damage is not immediately applied when a student loses Health: their number of hearts does not change. To enact this Health loss, check your to-dos!

This delay between when the damage is received and applied enables students to strategize, collaborate, and use their powers to help out their teammates.
