It's all about progress(ion)

You've had a lot to say about the class progression! We've been collecting comments and working on streamlining how it works and is displayed.

Today, we're releasing the following improvements to the class progression:

1. No more progress bar in the Introduction

In the Introduction, teachers need to complete the four steps. There's no sense of progression as in the other chapters: it's a list of mandatory steps to play Classcraft with your students. To avoid confusion, we removed the progress bar when in the introductory chapter.

2. Updated how the class progression bar looks

When you give Experience Points to your students, your class automatically progresses. Unfortunately, this bar looked quite different from the other existing Experience Points bar, the student's. We've harmonized the visuals so it's easier to understand the bar's purposed. To this effect, we

  • added the numbers of current Experience Points and the total required to naturally reach the next chapter
  • changed the color to the Experience Points' purple color
  • made Experience Points increase visible

3. Made it possible to hide the class progression bar

Whether you've finished progressing through the four chapters or you're at a place you're comfortable at, you may want to dismiss the class progress bar and only view your student list on the Class Dashboard. You can now dismiss the bar by clicking the X button in the top right corner. To re-enable it afterward:

  • Click the ... button
  • Select "Show class progression bar"

The bar may reappear periodically to prompt you to try out a new feature or move on to a different chapter, but you can choose to dismiss it again.

Don't hesitate to let you know what you think about these changes or send any feedback our way, we're always happy to hear from you! 😁
